1. Sobriety: Residents must maintain sobriety from drugs and alcohol during their stay at the halfway house. Random drug and alcohol tests may be conducted to ensure compliance.
2. Curfew: Residents must adhere to a strict curfew, which will be set and communicated by the house staff. This curfew helps establish a structured routine and encourages responsibility.
3. Attendance: Residents must participate in all mandatory house meetings, counseling sessions, support groups, and any other programs or activities designed to aid their rehabilitation and transition process.
4. House chores: Each resident is required to participate in daily household chores to maintain cleanliness and order. This includes tasks such as cleaning common areas, doing laundry, and keeping personal living spaces tidy.
5. Communication: Residents must maintain open and respectful communication with staff, fellow residents, and program facilitators. Disruptive or disrespectful behavior, including harassment or aggression, will not be tolerated.
6. Employment or education: Residents must actively seek and maintain employment, or if applicable, enroll in educational programs. This aims to promote self-sufficiency and independence as they transition back into the community.
7. Financial responsibility: Residents are required to fulfill their financial obligations, including paying a predetermined housing fee or contributing to household expenses, if applicable. This helps develop responsible financial habits and accountability.
8. Personal belongings: Residents are responsible for their personal belongings. The halfway house will not be liable for any lost, stolen, or damaged items.
9. Visitation and guests: Residents must abide by house guidelines regarding visitation and guest policies. They may have limited visitation hours and specific rules for hosting guests to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
10. Zero-tolerance policy: Any violation of these rules, including drug or alcohol use, violence, theft, or repeated noncompliance, will result in appropriate consequences, which may include eviction from the halfway house.
